PeopleSoft HCM
On May 29, 2007 the State of Georgia upgraded PeopleSoft's Human Capital Management(HCM) System. This software upgrade enhances the previous PeopleSoft Human Resource Management System (HRMS) from version 8.8 to version 8.9. The software system supports approximately 115 State of Georgia entities. The modules currently in use are:

Manager Self Service
The Enterprise Learning Module is used in PeopleSoft to track training courses and employee training records through several stages of development. Courses must be built, facilities reserved, and instructors and materials allocated. Additionally, you must develop and organize student training programs, and a system of enrollment must be developed and organized as well as a method to track students' progress. Finally, training schedules must be produced, class rosters printed, and the student and administration communication lines opened.
The Employee Self Service feature allows employees access to their system information. Employees are able to view and update personal information, view payroll and compensation information and their leave balances.
Manager Self Service allows managers with direct reports to view information on their employees. Type of information that can be viewed is: Home-Address, Email Address, Phone Numbers, Emergency Contacts, Birthdays, Leave Balances, Education, Training, and Compensation History.
The HCM System is available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

There are currently 2000 users of the HCM System.
The personnel records for 100,000 employees are maintained in this system. Approximately 80,000 of those employees are paid each year through the Payroll module. The system supports weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly pay cycles. The remaining 20,000 employees are paid through external payroll systems.
Infopac (View Direct) is the mainframe software used to distribute and archive reports produced out of the system. Document Direct, a PC version of View Direct, is used by many users to view and selectively print portions of reports on local printers.
