Alan Skelton
Alan Skelton began serving as the Director for Statewide Accounting in February 2009. Mr. Skelton comes to the State of Georgia with more than 15 years combined experience at Ernst & Young LLP and the State of Florida Auditor General’s Office.
Mr. Skelton’s background includes financial reporting, internal audit, business process risk and controls, and information technology consulting. Alan was a Southeast Sub-Area Data Analysis Audit and Advisory Leader, member of the Americas ERP-Integrity team, and PeopleSoft subject matter resource.
In addition, Mr. Skelton has planned and supervised the completion of audit units related to the State of Florida’s CAFR and supervised operational audits of the Department of Law Enforcement, Department of Insurance/State Treasurer, and Public Service Commission.
Mr. Skelton earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Florida State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
