Fleet

The State Accounting Office (SAO) and Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) have jointly implemented a statewide Fleet Management System. The software package that was implemented was IBM’s Maximo Enterprise Suite version 6.0.  Additionally, to better manage both the business of managing our fleet and the technology to support the business, we have organized the resources and have realigned under one umbrella. The organization is the Office of Fleet Management which resides in the Department of Administrative Services.

The DOAS Office of Fleet Management centralizes state government's motor vehicle fleet management functions. Through policies and procedures the program provides guidance on vehicle purchases, assignment, usage, maintenance, operation, and disposal. Centralization of the state's fleet management functions ensures efficient and cost-effective operation of the state's motor vehicle fleet, minimizing the life-cycle costs associated with vehicle ownership. The Office of Fleet Management provides motor vehicle services for state and local governments.

The initial phase of this implementation addressed the procurement process and asset tracking, while allowing maintenance, fuel and other operating costs to be accumulated for the entire state fleet. Over time, a greater number of inputs and processes will be streamlined and automated and interfaces with other systems will be built and integrated. These will alllow agencies to more efficiently gather and analyze mileage, cost, assignment, repair, acquisition and disposal data in a way never before possible in the state.

This web site will act as a reference point for state employees who are interested in learning more about this system and provide ongoing updates and news as we continue to make changes or enhancements.
