New Deputy State Accounting Officer

November 2012 - SAO  is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Deputy State Accounting Officer. Joan Schoubert is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and spent six years with a large local firm and Ernst & Young in Florida.  She also spent ten years with the Florida Department of Lottery in Tallahassee, FL in increasingly responsible accounting management positions coordinating the development of operational policies and procedures, leading continual process improvement projects and numerous “change management” initiatives related to operational and technological improvements and business maturity.

Joan joined the Georgia Lottery Corporation in 1999 and spent twelve years in various senior leadership positions.  In her most recent role as Senior Vice President of Finance, Planning & Development, she was responsible for corporate-wide product planning and development for purposes of strategic business planning, analysis and development within executive management.  Serving as Chief Financial Officer, she was in charge of all Finance Division activities.

She has an A.A. in Business Administration at Bainbridge College and a B.S. in Accounting from Florida State University.
