SAO TeamWorks Travel & Expense Wins 2012 GTA Technology Award
The SAO’s TeamWorks Travel & Expense system initiative has been recognized as a winner of the 2012 GTA Technology Innovation Showcase. The Showcase is a forum to share ideas, experiences and lessons learned and to recognize outstanding technology innovations across the state. GTA recently solicited state agency IT projects for recognition, and the travel project has been selected as one of the award winners!
In September, 2011, as part of a strategy to increase efficiency and contain costs, the State Accounting Office, in cooperation with the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget, began implementing a comprehensive web based end-to-end travel program. The TeamWorks Travel & Expense system enables state employees to successfully execute their essential travel requirements at the lowest reasonable cost by providing systematic efficiencies and realizing economies of scale in statewide travel contracts. As of June 2012, eleven agencies had begun using the solution and in FY 2013, SAO continues the rollout to additional agencies, colleges and universities.
