Driving Directions

The State Accounting Office is located at 200 Piedmont Avenue SE, Suite 1604 West Tower, Atlanta, Georgia 30334-9010.

Note: All visitors are required to show a driver’s license or other acceptable form of photo identification to security personnel before entering the building. Access to visitor entrances is by MARTA or through the entrance facing Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive at the front of the building.

By MARTA:
Exit the MARTA train at the Georgia State Station on the Blue and Green Lines. Follow the signs to the State Office Building, proceeding up the escalator, and enter the building from the MARTA station. Take the escalators down to the Plaza level and check in at the West Towers security desk. A valid photo I.D. is required to enter the tower.

SAO offices are located on the 16th Floor of the West Tower.

By Car:

Pete Hackney Parking Deck
162 Jesse Hill Jr., Drive, Atlanta, GA (located at the corner of Jesse Hill Jr. Drive and Decatur Street)

Driving North on Interstate 75/85:
Exit 246 (Fulton Street)
Turn right onto Fulton Street
Turn left onto Capitol Avenue
Cross Memorial Drive
Turn right onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive at 2nd traffic light
Turn left onto Jesse Hill, Jr. Drive
Parking is on the right

Driving South on Interstate 75/85:
Exit 248A (Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr./ State Capitol/ Stadium)
Turn right from exit ramp onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive
Turn right onto Jesse Hill, Jr. Drive
Parking is on the right

Driving West on Interstate 20:
Exit 58A (Capitol Avenue)
Turn right onto Capitol Avenue
Cross Memorial Drive
Turn right onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive at 2nd traffic light
Turn left onto Jesse Hill, Jr. Drive
Parking is on the right

Driving East on Interstate 20:
Exit 56B (Windsor Street/ Spring Street/ Stadium)
Turn left onto Central Avenue at 3rd traffic light
Go to Memorial Drive and turn right
Turn left onto Capitol Avenue at next traffic light
Turn right onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive
Turn left onto Jesse Hill, Jr. Drive
Parking is on the right

How to enter the James H. "Sloppy" Floyd Building:

Once parked in the Pete Hackney Parking Deck:

  1. Take the elevator or stairs to the 5th level of the parking deck which has the entrance to the pedestrian bridge.
  2. The bridge will take you into the Butler Parking Deck.
  3. In the Butler Parking Deck, take the elevator or stairs to the 3rd level (Bridge).
  4. Take the pedestrian bridge into the Floyd Building.
  5. You will enter the Floyd Building via the East Tower.
  6. Walk across to the West Tower.
  7. The security guard post will require a valid photo I.D. to enter the tower.

SAO offices are located on the 16th Floor of the West Tower.
