What’s New

The NextGen project has met a crucial milestone! After much research and due diligence – by a dedicated team that included a large number of agency contributors – a contract has been awarded to Workday for the NextGen enterprise resource planning (ERP) system! The new ERP will include a full suite of functionality including human capital management, talent management, learning, payroll, finance, grants and procurement. The implementation of the NextGen cloud ERP solution will enable us to work faster and smarter to bring Georgia to the forefront of technology.

What’s Next

With Workday on board as NextGen’s software supplier, the project team will be issuing a Request for Proposal for an implementation partner who will help us implement the new Workday system.

Sprint 2 Process Mapping Workshops begin the week of Feb. 20. Ernst & Young will host the workshop sessions with the goal of refining the State’s processes further and providing more detail for system requirements.

On Feb. 8, a virtual Townhall Meeting will be held to provide project updates and next steps to agency heads and designated project contributors. A recording of the meeting and a copy of the presentation will be posted to the NextGen website following the event.

Soon, the NextGen project will be implementing timekeeping procedures to track time dedicated to the project. This information will be critical for tracking expenses and resources allocated across the enterprise throughout the project’s lifecycle. More information will be provided when those details are finalized.
