What's New

New detailed project timeline in the works

The go-live date for GA@WORK has moved from October 1, 2025, to April 1, 2026. This includes Human Capital Management, Finance and Procurement. Careful consideration was given to select the new go-live date. NextGen Project Leadership evaluated the remaining tasks, incorporated valuable input from the NextGen Project Team and reviewed findings from the Change Readiness Assessments before making a final decision.

The Project Team is currently re-examining the progress to-date and making adjustments and improvements to put us in a stronger position when GA@WORK is launched. The extension also provides more opportunities for end users to engage with and explore the GA@WORK system ahead of full deployment.

In the coming weeks, the new project timeline will be shared to help you understand where we are today and the path we will take to reach the new go-live date, successfully.

Training details change with new timeline

Due to the shift in the NextGen Project’s go-live date, there have been some adjustments made to the GA@WORK implementation training schedule. This fall, employees will be enrolled in the new GA@WORK Learning Programs (Paths). These Learning Programs (Paths) contain role-based training designed to provide employees across the state with the essential skills and knowledge needed for a smooth transition to GA@WORK.

Learning Programs (Paths) are available on the GA@WORK Resource Library and contain both eLearning courses (beginning in fall 2025) and instructor-led training courses (available January – March 2026). Additionally, the deadline for completing the GA@WORK Basic Navigation eLearning course has been updated in Team Georgia Learning. Employees now have until Feb. 27, 2026, to complete the course. This on-demand, foundational course will be available to you as a resource prior to go-live and after for reference!

More specific details regarding course availability, enrollment procedures and timelines will be shared. Please be on the lookout for these updates.
