NextGen Team Huddle
On July 8, more than 200 NextGen Project Team members gathered in person to get a sneak peek of the demos and processes that will be shown at the upcoming HCM Agency Preview Sessions. This was a great opportunity for attendees to see discovery and design efforts come to life in the GA@WORK system. Team members also had a chance to catch up and connect across all workstreams.
The full-day event was time well spent familiarizing ourselves with the new GA@WORK system and acknowledging the team’s milestones and achievements as we came together to celebrate the NextGen Project.

Data Clean Up
The NextGen Project Team has started Round 3 of HCM Data Clean Up in preparation for the transition to GA@WORK. For this round, the team is focused on ensuring agency reporting structure and employee positions and job codes are accurate.
The Data Clean Up effort is an ongoing process and will continue for HCM and Finance and Procurement until the transition to GA@WORK is complete. We thank everyone who has participated in cleaning up your agency’s data!
Security Role Mapping
In June, the NextGen Project Team partnered with Agency Security Officers at eight agencies to participate in a Security Role Mapping pilot for HCM. This process involves mapping the security roles in GA@WORK to the specific employees who will execute the steps of various processes. On Tuesday, July 9, the team hosted a final Security Role Mapping Session to help pilot agencies complete mapping. Role mapping templates are due July 12 from participating agencies.
Based on the feedback from the pilot, the team will refine the role mapping process for the next round of security role mapping when all agencies will be invited to participate. Stay tuned for more details.
Data Validation
Upon the completion of the Round 1 HCM Data Validation pilot in May, the Project Team is now gearing up for Round 2 HCM Data Validation and Round 1 Finance and Procurement Data Validation, both kicking off this month.
Round 2 HCM Data Validation will take place July 18 - August 2 and Round 1 Finance and Procurement Data Validation will take place July 22 - August 16. The latter will center on a small, pilot group of agencies to validate key finance and procurement data elements.
This process involves agency data validation partners checking the integrity, accuracy and structure of data being transferred to GA@WORK. This work is a crucial part of the NextGen project, to ensure all data is clean and integrated accurately for each agency.
