Stay engaged in GA@WORK activities

The NextGen Project needs your continued support to participate in and complete project activities to ensure a smooth transition to GA@WORK in October. Without your agency’s involvement, the system may not meet your organization’s needs, potentially affecting thousands of processes such as payroll, approvals and document routing.

Please take a look at the following activities and important due dates.

Your participation in these activities is crucial to test new processes, validate your organization’s data and establish your organization’s structure.

First round of HCM User Acceptance Testing complete!

The NextGen Project Team would like to thank everyone who participated in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the Human Capital Management (HCM) functions of GA@WORK!

Participants helped the team identify issues to be resolved prior to launching GA@WORK.   Testing is a vital step in the transition process as it helps to ensure compatibility, catch integration issues early, ensure system reliability by verifying its functionality across varied conditions, improve the user experience and reduce potential disruptions and failures before go-live.

Finance/Procurement System Integration Testing is ongoing. The first round wraps up Feb. 28, and the next round kicks off March 10.

We appreciate your diligence in making a better GA@WORK for everyone!

Agency Readiness Checklists to help POCs track project activities

In response to agencies wanting a better understanding of the requests made to them each month, the Project Team has developed Agency Readiness Checklists. These checklists, designed primarily for Points of Contact (POCs), provide a consolidated view of agency tasks. Launched this month, these monthly checklists compile requests made to agencies in the areas of Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll, Finance, Procurement and Change Management.

The checklists offer a comprehensive view of what GA@WORK readiness activities are going on in the agency that month, so teams have easier insight into what is happening within the project. It is still the responsibility of agencies to work with the different business suites and project requesters to submit and track completion of requests. The Agency Readiness Checklist is a summary that answers “what is going on and what do we need to do this month?”

New tax services vendor introduced

In January, Automatic Data Processing (ADP) was onboarded as a new vendor to handle agency payroll tax services. This change ensures compliance for all in-state and out-of-state employees, and provides a consistent process, removing the filing burden from agencies.

A memo was sent to agencies to introduce ADP, inform them of authorizations needed and to request confirmation of employees who consistently perform work out of state, whether at an assigned out-of-state location or remotely from a residence out of the state.

In the coming weeks, forms and next steps will be shared.
