Coming in September: GA@WORK Feature Release

Twice a year the Workday system releases system updates. The next GA@WORK (Workday) feature release is scheduled for Sept. 19. The September update will bring new and enhanced functionalities. If the system updates impacts the user experience, these impacts will be communicated about in stakeholder meetings, the Support Portal, newsletters, and email.

Adaptive Planning Trainings offered in September

Adaptive Planning went live on Aug. 3, and training is available to provide users with a deeper understanding of Adaptive Planning.

Below are details for the next Instructor-Led trainings taking place in late September.

Adaptive Planning 3: Operational Expenses and Revenues - Sept. 14

  • Format: Instructor-Led Training (3 hours)
  • Topics: Expense Forecasting, Revenue Forecasting

An email was sent to CFOs, HRDs and POCs from [email protected] with details and instructions on how to sign up to attend these trainings.

GA@WORK Training makes way for more learning opportunities

Office Hours and Learning Labs are designed to help GA@WORK users gain a better understanding of the system after training. Office Hours provide a space for users to ask questions and learn more about new processes, while Learning Labs provide an opportunity to observe system demonstrations.

A complete schedule of these supplemental learning opportunities is located on the GA@WORK Resource Library. An invite from Microsoft Teams will be sent to attend these sessions.

GA@WORK Resources & Support

GA@WORK users’ experience enhances with new resources

The Support Portal and GA@WORK Resource Library offer a variety of resources designed to help users build confidence and proficiency in the GA@WORK system. Three new resources have recently been developed to help users quickly identify and access the guidance they need to support their GA@WORK experience: Tips, Quick Reference Guides (QRGs), and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

While each resource provides support for GA@WORK, they serve distinct purposes and are designed to address different user needs.

Tips: Provide practical guidance for employees and managers to work efficiently and can be found in the GA@WORK Resource Library and Support Portal. Some topics include Inbox Filter, Check My Tasks, and Approving Time in GA@WORK.

QRGs: Offer concise, supplemental guidance developed from user questions since the July 1 go-live. They provide brief insights for tasks without an existing job aid and are the foundation for future job aids. To access the QRGs, visit the Support Portal and enter Quick Reference Guide in the search bar.

FAQs: Answer commonly asked questions concerning Finance, Human Capital Management, Banking and Settlement, and many more subjects. Located within each Support Area in the Support Portal.

Word on the Street

GA@WORK has been live for nearly two months, and users across the enterprise are sharing their experiences with the new system through the NextGen Change Network and Super Users. The early feedback is encouraging, and the word on the street is positive! Check out what users from three agencies said about their GA@WORK experience.

“Employees feel like the system is easy to navigate and like that they have the ability to manage their own data/leave.”

 - Department of Early Childcare and Learning

“Reports are running faster!”

- Prosecuting Attorneys Council of Georgia

“On the Buyer side, the requisition can't be submitted unless all errors are completed which is a win for not having to re-work or send the requester any edits.”

- Department of Community Health

“The requisition process for entering manual information (such as chart fields) requires less work, and the requesters are very happy for that!”

- Department of Community Health
